Nicolas Rakotopare

Associate Fellow at the International League of Conservation Photographers (iLCP).

My work focuses on documenting science, conservation and nature. Bringing stories of science, conservation and nature to a general audience through all the channels available today is what I strive to do.

I have a degree in Ecology and Conservation Biology. After spending most of my time growing up in Madagascar, I have now been based in Australia for over a decade.

I worked as the science communication and media specialist for the National Environment Science Program Threatened Species Recovery Hub and currently work freelance on a range of media projects and assignments for NGOs, magazines and research institutions.

My clients include: Indigenous Desert Alliance, Channel 4 (UK), Bloomberg Digital (USA), ARC Centre of Excellence for Innovations in Peptide and Protein Science (CIPPS), the Natural history Unit (NHU), the Australian Wildlife Conservancy, TERN, and more.

I have licensed content to SBS, PBS, Plimsoll Productions, Netflix, Firesticks Alliance, and more.

I also run wildlife photography workshops in Sri Lanka with my friend Craig Greer, more info available soon.
